Take Your Child to the Library Day 2018
February 3 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Easton Public Library will be celebrating the 7th Annual Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, February 3rd, with two special programs. At noon there is bookmark making for children Pre-K and up. No registration necessary. For kids in grades K-5, there is the Pen*Stars Creative Workshop, a creative platform for children where they read, learn new words, and create their own stories for a chance to become published authors or artists. The workshop is conducted by the authors of the Pen*Stars Series, who inspire and help children discover their true potential and bring it out in the form of writing and drawing. Stories created by children may be featured in the Pen*Stars Series, an interactive book series created by children, for children. Registration is required for this program.
Launched in 2011 by two Connecticut Librarians, Take Your Child to the Library Day was created to raise awareness about the importance of libraries in children’s lives. Libraries all over the world participate in this initiative.
“We want children to be aware of everything the Library has to offer,” says Mary Beth Rassulo, Assistant Director/Head of Youth Services. “Take Your Child to the Library Day is the perfect opportunity for everyone to explore all of our resources.”
