Absentee Ballots for College Students

ATTENTION COLLEGE STUDENTS!

If you are going away to school in the Fall, but want to vote in the November 5, 2019 municipal election, complete your Application for Absentee Ballot now and mail it to the Town Clerk, P.O. Box 1028, Redding, CT 06875 or drop it off during business hours. Your ballot will then be mailed to you on or about October 4, 2019. Applications are available at the Town Clerk’s Office or click here for application.

If you are not already registered to vote, you can complete a registration form at the Town Clerk’s Office, download the form from the town website, or register online at https://voterregistration.ct.gov/

LEGAL NOTICEWARNING

NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING

The Legal Voters in the Town of Redding, and those entitled to vote therein are hereby warned and notified to meet at the Special Town Meeting to be held at Redding Town Hall, 100 Hill Road, on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 7:30 P.M., for the following purpose:

To consider the expenditure of up to $2,950,000 for three year road reconstruction to be funded through short term borrowing pending long term financing as recommended by the Board of Finance.  The meeting is for discussion only as the Board of Selectmen has removed the vote from the town meeting and will send to referendum, the date and time of which will be set at the town meeting.

To do any and all things legal and necessary to accomplish the above named purpose and take any other action that may legally and properly come before the meeting.

Crash in Georgetown

At approximately 1230 hours on August 5, 2019 Redding Police Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a truck rollover with the operator trapped inside.  The crash location was Route 57 and Old Mill Road. It was determined that the truck was traveling north on Route 107 and as it attempted to turn right onto Route 57 it lost control, striking  a vehicle stopped at the traffic light the continued traveling off the south side of Route 57 down a embankment.  The operator of the truck was removed and transported to Norwalk Hospital by the Georgetown Fire Department.  The other vehicles operator was not injured.  At this time we have no additional information as this crash is still being actively investigated.
