Mock Crash

On April 30, the students at Joel Barlow High School witnessed a simulated car crash that let them see firsthand what often happens when a driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol or distracted by their phones. Laura Wheatley of the ERCCC Parent Committee worked with the school’s administration to make this event come to fruition. This was a joint effort with first responders from Redding and Easton as well as actors from the student body.

It was a powerful event that will hopefully save some lives by educating students and parents about the dangers of impaired driving, even if they are not the driver.
