Behind the Business Card: Visual Images for Social Media

Using Visual Images for Social Media is the topic of April’s Behind the Business Card. Attendees are invited to join fellow business owners to share and discuss the photos, graphics, and tools they use to promote their businesses.

“Keep it simple,” advises professional photographer and Small Business Circle member Chris Rexon, who recommends putting your best foot forward by using high quality graphics and video. In an increasingly digital world, visual content can break through the clutter and help set businesses apart from the competition. Behind the Business Card is an ongoing series of lively discussions designed to create connections and build lasting business relationships.

Distracted Driving Awareness Month

This month is National distracted Driving Awareness Month. During the day, approximately 660,000 drivers are using cell phones. April 30th, JBHS will host First Responders from both Easton and Redding to conduct a mock crash. This is an event that shows how much we care for our teens as a community and to teach them that distracted driving and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol can have irreversible effects on our lives. When you see two towns taking time to simulate a real life-threatening situation for our teens, it makes us all realize how important it is to continually remind our children how to make safe and smart decisions.

Every day we are all presented with different choices. Teens need reminders of how to make good decisions in order to safeguard their own lives and the lives of others. To that end, the students who view the mock crash will be given Safety Cards to carry with them. The card will consist of emergency numbers, including Safe Rides, so they always have an option. Continuous education on safety is not a choice, it is a must, and JBHS is providing this education by hosting this event.
